Precious metal clay - a magical soft material that turns into solid metal after firing - holds many of the same fascinations for me as working with real clay. It's malleable, transforms in a kiln and readily accepts textures and marks. On its own or combined with semi-precious gemstone beads it turns into beautifully detailed wearable art. Many of my textures are hand drawn und one of a kind. All silver shown here - except components, which are sterling -is made from 960 precious metal clay. While this can be called sterling silver it's noteworthy that these pieces have a higher percentage of fine silver, which adds to their material value. I also work with traditional silver smithing methods. Almost all components, such as clasps, are hand-made as well. Gold colored pieces are crafted from Bronze metal clay, components are gold-filled.
